I don’t have a tutorial for you today but I wanted to showcase the concept of combining vintage photography with modern mixed media and technology.
As I reflect upon my own art practices and how I have grown as a designer I have come to realise that I LOVE mixing old with new.
I use a lot of ‘things’ from years past in my collage work, film slides, vintage ephemera, documents and other paperie items.
I’ve always enjoyed recyling old junk into new art projects and making something new out of it or mixing it with new items. Maybe that’s why this niche of scrapbooking fascinates me so much?!
Have you ever considered manipulating old photo’s by combining them with modern mixed media and giving them a new lease of life?
Enjoy these themed page ideas today from my talented team who have done just that with my designs. I hope they inspire you to get creative!
Old photos have been blended into backgrounds using digital techniques, they have been embellished and combined with modern mixed media and they have been lovingly restored and given a new lease of life.
I love the end results!

Some stunning creations there!
I have SO many vintage photographs. In fact, my Winter Project is to label in the properties of 22,000 scanned photos who is in each! A big job. Maybe I'll have time to scrap more soon and maybe be inspired to mix them with your modern kits. Which I love as you may have figured out. Your kit creation is my style and even if I don't buy, I just feel soul filled looking at the images. lol
