Today we are exploring Hybrid techniques using the March Project Kit ‘Emerge’.

Creative Team Member Theresa Moxley is here to inspire you with her ‘Invisible String’ Project!

INTRODUCING THERESA

Hi friends, I am Theresa, scrapbooker and designer!

I live in Kernersville, North Carolina, with my very dear husband and our four children ages 17 to 21. We also care for a feisty cat named Zoe, and our goofy lab Mayze.

I began scrapbooking the traditional way in 2003 when I was pregnant with my son Nick. I wanted to make my own Christmas cards that year, so I did, and then not long after that I had storage drawers in the dining room, with card stock and two stamps. And then it wasn’t long before I took over the 3rd bedroom!

I really wanted to make sure my children’s lives were well documented through photographs and great stories, and over the years I have found the value in documenting my own stories as well. I was an early participant in some of the early chat groups and forums, and decided I wanted to contribute my layouts as well, so in 2014 I started blogging and recording my process videos.

Over the years I have created a variety of classes that focus on creating strategies to complete albums, and a landmark workshop called Light The Path, designed to help survivors find ways to use their photos, art, and scrapbooking to document their own healing journeys.

These days I am super inspired by digital collections and using them to create hybrid layouts with tons of depth and dimension, always focused on telling the stories of how we made it through and where we found the points of light.

FUN TECHNIQUES TO MAKE HYBRID LAYOUTS POP

Today, for premium subscribers I have put together a fun tutorial on some great ways to use layers and textures in your hybrid scrapbook layouts.

You might be like me, someone who loves tactile experiences, the act of cutting and gluing, however you may feel a bit unsure about where to begin.

I’d love to share some common ways that I have learned over the years to make hybrid layouts *pop* by using some fun techniques. I am going to use examples from the recent layout I created for the Emerge collection, released for March.

I’ll describe how i create and prepare my digital files ready for printing and crafting in a written tutorial, and I have also put together a detailed video showing these steps and share more context about my choices, symbolism, and what this page represents for me.

(Free subscribers can read the full post by upgrading their subscription. You’ll also receive the current months Project Kit ‘EMERGE’, available until the 31st of March, along with the past premium posts you’ve missed)
