Quick, Easy, and Fun: The New Face of Mixed Media Digital Scrapbooking
Myth Busted - It doesn't have to be hard
Who told you that Mixed Media Digital Scrapbooking was complicated, time consuming and hard?!
I’m here to bust some myth’s today and contest otherwise, I’m going to show you that with the right assets (and support) it can be quick, easy and lots of fun!
It’s my job as a Mixed Media Digital Scrapbook Product designer to make my products as realistic as possible. And it’s one of my goals to continue to make my products as photo ready as possible and to continue to support you with smart and effective ways to use my assets to your advantage.
I want creating to be easy and fun for you so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with suggestions on new articles or questions about my products that I can answer for you.
Today, I’m going to show you how I created my ‘Just the cutest’ scrapbook page in around five minutes or so using new assets found in my Sweet December Stories collection.
Oh yes. A beautiful Mixed Media Scrapbook Page in five minutes or less?! Absolutely!!
First, let’s take a little look at a ready made Mixed Media Scrapbook Paper
This is paper one from my Sweet December Stories Miscellaneous Mixed Media Paperie pack
I have circled an area of interest that I purposely created for you.
Did you notice that the paper is darker in this corner and that it also contains splatters of white paint and a focal snowflake that is different to the others?
This is where I suggest you place your focal point or photograph, use it as a ‘mount’ to support your design.
Your background paper is already doing a lot of composition work here for you!
I’ve added my photo and within the next few minutes I’ll be ready to complete my page!
Next I’m highlighting how powerful some of my embellishments can be to finish your page easily and quickly.
The following elements are from my Sweet December Stories Pretty Little Things pack
For this tutorial, you do not need to have experience in blending or using the blending modes in Photoshop as I have simply dragged them onto my canvas and positioned them in place.
Easy Peasy! I chose three pretty little things to layer to the left of my photo and I turned another one on it’s side to lie at the bottom of my photo.
Purposely arranging them around that focal snowflake that’s nestled beneath the photo so everything flows nicely.
Doesn’t that look pretty and remember, no blending was done here, no fancy techniques, just smart assets that make creating so effortless.
The ready made paper and drag and drop style elements make creating digital art for your photos so easy!
Finally, I’m going to work on adding some trinkets and my date and journaling.
A paint splatter, some shiny confetti and some mixed confetti beads along with a tag and a star were added from my Sweet December Stories Mixed Media Artistry XL pack.
I added my date onto the tag and finished my page with a few words.
All done in five minutes or so. I spent more time choosing my photo!!
You can purchase my date stamps here and be on the look out for the 2024 edition stamps in the Black Friday Sales soon.
Ta-Da all done!
