The new Hear My Voice Collection and Page Design Ideas
Lynn and I have both been busy creating lots of new designs for the latest instalment in the ‘Hear My Voice’ Series.
Whilst working on this new collection, ‘Soaring’, it got me thinking about how everything is always shifting and moving - even when it feels like nothing big is really happening.
It’s not always the big moments that shape us, but when reflected upon later down the line, it’s often the smallest of moments that can feel so significant and that’s one of the things I love about memory keeping. The invitation to relive our memories as we scrapbook them and create, looking back in retrospect, and uncovering those little moments of significance that may have otherwise gone unnoticed for much longer had it not have been for the act of picking up the photo and creating with it there and then.
As the Soaring Collection came to fruition, I knew that I’d be using it for not only the onward moments, and those big uplifting stories and big achievements, but also those subtle in-betweens.
The kind of stories where I pause and freeze a moment in time with photography to snapshot it before things get moving again and it passes me by.
Holding things still if you like, such as this little moment above of Mackenzie making little ‘dens’ under my duvet so she can snuggle and read on her tummy.
And like the little glimmers that we notice all around us when we pay attention to our surroundings, like the joy of a rainbow after a storm my hubby caught on camera whilst on a working commute.
I also couldn’t resist creating a page with the new collection around the giggles between my two whilst enjoying a celebratory coffee shop treat on Father’s Day last weekend.
This kit is so broad and works in totally different ways depending on which direction you want to take it in.
Creative Team members Theresa and Natasha both reached for it to document huge achievements.
Natasha shares with us her story of her daughter receiving a Bachelor’s Degree and looking forward to the future pursuing her career goals.
Theresa has been busy printing and cutting our digital assets to craft this hybrid page, documenting her daughter entering college early, having been accepted into UNC Charlotte's UTOP program.
Full of energy, motion, and emotion, these pages are so inspiring!
There are lots of little visual cues for movement in the collection from messy lopped threads, carefully put together phrases, upward marks, feathers, birds and much more and it’s so fun to create with whether your story is about elation or the everyday.
