Playing with geometric prints and spring pastels
Spring feels for the March BYOC
SPRING IN THE AIR, BY LYNN
Recently I’ve been enjoying creating slightly more traditional scrapbooking-style collections, keeping things simple and designing for memory keeping and documenting - but still with messy/artsy touches.
I’ve been making these for the monthly ‘BYOC’ 1events, and enjoying making pages with them as well:
I love a geometric print (on clothes, home furnishings AND on digital designs!) and they are a little harder to incorporate on a very ‘messy’ mixed media art journaling page, so it’s been fun to create and use them.
Sometimes bold (like the one above) and sometimes more muted like this one, used below by Christa:
But I always include some painterly papers too, and paint:
This month’s colour palette that we were challenged to use for our ‘BYOC’ collections had a definite Spring vibe.
It’s always fun to see what other designers come up with but this time I decided to lean into the ‘springiness’ of it.
Here are the BYOC ‘spend more, save more’ details in case you are planning to stock up - although do note that the collection bundle is excluded and is instead available at a highly discounted set price for the sale weekend. So you may want to purchase the component parts (the kit, the cards, the templates, the papers) instead if you are buying lots from other designers
We’d love to know what you think about the direction I’ve taken with these collections for March.
If you have time drop us a comment, we’d love to hear from you! And as always, thank you to EVERYONE for reading and for being here. Have a good weekend.

BYOC is the acronym for ‘Build Your Own Collection’ which happens at the start of each month at The Lilypad. All the designers are given a palette of colours to work with, so you can mix and match goodies from various designers.

Love the first page with the big photo and the patterned paper. This place looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
