I love reading about how you both scrap and "think" about design. I read everything and often try to implement what you talk about in my pages. But here is the kicker... I don't "think"... I feel. I don't know if it's right, wrong, or indifferent. I don't know if it makes sense in "design" so to speak. I just put things on the page, move them around... and see how it feels. But actual thinking about the what or why of how I do it ... it's rare for me.
I don't want to speak for Rachel ;-) .. but to let you into a little secret, I am the same. Yes, sometimes I will set out to create with a specific technique, as when I was writing about 'messing up' my photos. But generally I will just create, and it is a very organic, unplanned process. Then I can analyse what works on the page, and why (which is fun to do and to share). Glad you enjoy reading the results of that musing and analysis!
